pop is rock

I've been studying all night/morning and keep taking little breaks to look at online stores and blogs and magazines. One thing that keeps popping into my mind is Miley Cyrus. Can't tell if I'm loving her right now or not. Before, she had the whole bubble gum pop star thing down pat and even with all the extensions, I couldn't help but fall in love with her hair. And then she started the go grunge which I'm totally fine with, but couldn't help but think of what Taylor Momsen said before. It was something to the likes of how "People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Now Rihanna's wearing f-ing leather jackets, an it's really annoying." I have nothing against Rihanna or anything, but I can see where Momsen is coming from and I can't help but kind of agree. I always hated it when people wore stuff because it was "in". Why not just dress your own style? I remember back in high school I always stuck out a bit because while everyone was wearing Abercrombie and Banana Republic, I was wearing a mixture of stuff I found at Good Will mixed with vintage and online stuff. I dressed whatever I felt that day whether if it meant that I wore neon jeans for a week straight or not. Anyways, back on topic, I couldn't decide if Cyrus was dressing for a part or if it really was her. And then the hair chop happened. Totally love her again and keep eyeing some of the things she's making her "trademark". Besides the new 'do, she started to revise her diet and exercising and I think it's really paying off- as long as she's happy and doing it in a healthy way. One of the things that I keep seeing her wear and that I'm totally loving right now is the crop top..

The little things

I had a bit of a tiny shopping spree at Walmart yesterday and I couldn't wait to try them out. Satisfied? For the most part. Not very fond of the Maybelline BB cream compared to the L'Oreal one. But hey, I'll still get my use out of it I'm sure.

 Also, the one-sweep eyeshadow pallet thing wasn't that great either. I do love the colors of it though and will probably just use them separately or blend them together myself. The two other ELF gel eyeliners are amazing though! Not only are they cheap, but they work really well and don't smudge all over the place. I'm loving the golden color in that one too..

I know it looks like a horrible manicure, but I couldn't help not posting this because of Wally down there in the corner. He had just passed some gas and jumped up really big and was in the process of turning around to see what the smell was when this picture was snapped. His whole process is quite hilarious. Anyways, this picture doesn't do the nails justice either, it really is a beautiful color. And it is also cheap and also from Walmart. I can't remember the name of it because I kind of sorta grabbed a whole handful of them.. did I mention that they were cheap?

Lazy day

Boyfriend always gets onto me for having a bunch of heels and how I never wear them. To prove a point, I wore my pair of clogs all day long even thought I was sitting in front of my laptop most of the time haha. Btw- studying for like 5 hours? Not very much fun. But my mum made some homemade pizza and I used that as an incentive. After so many hours, I would be allowed to stuff my face with it. It was totally worth it.

Is it not summertime yet?

I'm officially over this weather. It's been so cold and rainy and snowy lately and then randomly yesterday and like one day a couple weeks ago it felt like 80. And now it's back to this. Stop teasing me! Never before have I really liked summertime weather a whole lot because it's been so hot and I'm very modest. But lately everything just looks so cute! I plan on invading my sister's life in Alabama in a few months too and will more than likely live on the beach for about a week straight so I need to go ahead and stock up! Some of the things I'm kind of obsessing over right now are sunglasses, shredded shorts, and just some basic swimming suits..

Update

Yup. Somebody at work today decided that it would be a perfect time to have a steak with a big old bowl of steak sauce, rolls, and a soda. All there right in front of me. I've never wanted something so bad in my entire life...

Ash Wednesday

Ugh! Why is it that every time when you can't have something you want it the most? No meat on Fridays, fasting today, giving something up or doing something extra... Why do I always pick the most difficult thing ever to give up and do extra anyways..

New Years?

I've always been absolutely horrible at keeping resolutions. In fact, I can't even remember the last time I tried. One thing that I've always wanted to change though is my physical appearance. I have hips and thighs, but lack boobs so I just look totally unproportional. Any weight gained goes straight to my legs and compared to the rest of my family where they're all tall and skinny made/ makes me feel even worse. I know that I need to find some sort of body peace, but no matter how hard I try or how long I meditate over it, I still hate it about myself. I've lost weight in the past few years and I've reached goals that I set up forever ago, but once I reached it, it suddenly wasn't good enough for me anymore. It's something that's really personal to me and really difficult to talk about, but hopefully when I look back on this post, I'll be in a different point in my life then and be more comfortable with myself. At least that's the goal for me right now.

I was in such a rush I almost cut through the dust bag! Oh my goodness, I don't think I'm ever going to set this baby down. I seriously jumped up and down and screamed like a little 8 year old boy for like 10 minutes. Wally decided to join in and bark too to show his excitement. Oh my.. it's so gorgeous!
