So while in Colorado, we stayed in a campsite at Rocky Mountain National Forest..Campground I'm guessing? Anyways, we had just come back from a 7-mile hike and decided to relax in the reclining lawn chairs that we had brought with us that evening. I was really hot from the hike and almost sweating so i went into my tent to change into shorts. I came back and sat in the chair. I was so close to falling asleep.. you could see chipmunks running around everywhere and hear the wind in the trees and birds and feel the breeze and sunshine.. it was amazing. I was almost asleep whenever of course I started to get cold. I decided I would try to be a warrior and tough it out but after a couple of minutes I gave in and went into my tent to retrieve my sleeping bag. It had been sprinkling on and off all day long and dad told me that if you get even the tiniest bit of moisture on your sleeping bag, it will ruin the insulation and I'd freeze that night so I was of course very careful. Lo and behold a few minutes after I had zipped myself up into the mummy bag and kicked back in the chair, we could see rain approaching and hear it coming for us. Wanting desperately not to freeze, I hopped up as fast as I could and tried to sack race to the tent because stepping out would lose time. I had almost gotten to the door and needed my legs to get in, so I started to pull a leg out while still sack racing towards my tent. I of course fell. But in my desperate attempt, I had lunged towards the door while falling and unzipped the tent and threw my sleeping bag in just in time before the rain hit us. So, there I was, my whooooole entire right leg bloody, scratched and embedded with gravel sitting out in the rain laughing because of how funny the whole scene must have appeared to everyone and crying because my whole leg is mauled and I have to be in a wedding a week later and because it hurt really bad. I tried to clean it up as best as I could and dad told me to put antibiotic ointment on it and to head off to bed because I would hurt myself again more than likely if I stayed awake any longer (I'm very clumsy and tend to get hurt a lot). After going through all that trouble to keep the sleeping bag dry, I wasn't about to put wet ointment in there. So, I made a fuss and we ended up wrapping the whole leg in gauze wrap which in fact, made the whole thing a lot worse...
