What's in my Closet? -Boots

I love looking in style blogs or just spotting beautiful items in some random ad or on a person walking down the street, and I always want to know where they got those things! I'm not saying that what I have is beautiful, but I always get some inspiration from looking at them and hopefully they'll give others ideas on where to find things for a reasonable price. All of my boots came from either amiclubwear, Rue21, TJ Maxx, Kohl's, Plato's Closet, or Target. The most expensive pair was probably around $30 or so and least expensive was $7. Let's start off with the tall boots first. I keep all of them on one of my bookshelves and keep a magazine rolled up inside of the shaft of the boot to help keep them formed and supported.

These are all from Plato's Closet. I'm not for sure the brands, but all of them ran around $15. I got them back in July, but they should be stocked this time of year and they're all in fantastic condition.

All of these are from www.amiclubwear.com. The name sounds bad, but they really do have some cute stuff and they always have a sale going on. I've collected these throughout the years, but I've noticed that some of these styles are still in like the exposed zipper (1st pair), quilted back on boots (3rd pair), lace up, hidden wedge (dark brown suede pair on bottom in middle), and thigh high suede boots (last picture with light tan and black boots on shelf).
This pair is actually a hand-me-down from one of my sisters. She got them from Target I believe, and I've had them for about 5 years. They're made out of leather, so the wear and age on them makes them look even better in my opinion. I still use them when I go horseback riding or up to the barn, they're very sturdy and last through just about anything.

This last pair is by Rock and Republic from Kohl's. Not only do I love how I can roll down the top to make it knee high from being thigh high, has heels, and black suede, but I got them for like 95% off. They were priced at about $145 and I got them in the sale section for a mere $17. I was beyond excited. I'm pretty short (5' 3"), so I don't usually wear thigh high boots because it makes my legs look even stumpier than ever, but I think they can be really cute with just distressed skinny blue jeans, a white sweater, and black suede jacket. I know they don't look it, but you can style them to really be quite casual.
With that said, on to the short boots..
Now these are the shoes that I wear most often. I love my ankle boots and wear them all year round. I've got them from TJ Maxx, Rue 21, Kohl's, and Plato's Closet.

These are my all time favorite shoes. I wear them at least once a week. I love the cutouts on them and the black and gold color scheme... and they have heels! The first pair is Report that I got at TJ Maxx for $39.99 in the summer. The other pair is by Rock and Republic from Kohl's that I got again on sale for only $15! I was never a Kohl's person, but I feel like I need to go back after I found these shoes and check out their sale section again...
These are both from Rue21 about 2 years ago. I'm obsessed with studs, so I had to have these when I saw them. Rue21 is the best place for cheap shoes, so these came out to be like $8 a piece I think.

These are both from TJ Maxx. The blue suede pair is Steve Madden and the brown pair with the tassel lace ups is by Unionbay. About twice a year TJ Maxx has a clear-out sale basically where all the summer stuff has to go so it gets marked down to ridiculously low prices, and vice-versa with the winter inventory. I got these babies for like $7 a piece.
These are from the Kohl's sale section too for about $12 back in the summer. The color and the zipper tags stood out to me a lot.

Dang you internet!!

Well... I thought I would stay away from internet shopping. I actually lasted a few days and then well.. I needed a quick fix. Lo and behold, I'm about to add 3 new pairs to my collection :) what do you think?

The silver sparkly ones are by Dolce and Gabbana (because I of course always need more sparkly things); Brown and olive snakeskin by Manolo Blahnik (who would have guessed); Thistle colored strappy sandals by Valentino. More pics to come when they arrive!!

OOTD- day 3

Sweater: LC by Lauren Conrad, Pants: Indigo Rein from TJ Maxx, Heels: Mossimo color-block, Handbag: Givenchy Antigona

My first pair of Manolos... sigh..

I love them! I went ahead and added some tissue paper to help keep them formed while they stay in their box. There's no way I'm letting these babies just sit out on my shelf- which brought up an interesting thought to me. I adore shoes, so it's strange to me that I would treat any of them different from one another just because of the brand. I've never once kept shoes in their box, I've always had them out so I can see them so I don't forget about them haha. Has anyone else always done that, or do yall keep them stored away in boxes? It's making me wonder if I should start keeping the boxes now for all of them. Guess I'll have to buy some more shoes to start on this experiment :)

To New Beginings

Lats month I was getting so stressed out, bombed my first exam for pharmacology and I needed a release. So I painted. This is a huge deal for me because I'm one of the most indecisive people you will ever meet. I am very easy going and just aim to please, I hate dictating a situation or deciding what to do. So, painting is a very big deal. Last time I painted my room was in 6th grade which explains this color scheme and well matched furniture..
And now... Ta da!

As mentioned, I don't do well with decisions, so the new color isn't actually too different from the old one. My favorite color is blue though, so i went with a light matte version and I love it. I'm horrible at decorating, so I'm beyond proud of myself for not only choosing a color, but I actually got a new quilt and a faux fur throw too. I need to sort out something for the pillows, some decorations, and fixing up the closet... I don't know. I'll more than likely be spending the next few years trying to decide on just 1 pillow. Wish me luck

OOTD- Day 1?

I'm going to try to start up this business, although I realize I'm extremely late starting it. All well, here goes:

Forever 21 shirt; Gap jeans; Celine Phantom bag; old consignment shop boots; nappy hair

A little confession..

Well Christmas came early, or at least that's the excuse that I'm going to use. I made the mistake last week.. no that was a lie, I'm already feeling guilty. Ugh.. I made the mistake today of doing online shopping. I thought I would take a break from studying and just look and dang it I end up and bought.

I wish I could say that I'm sorry, but I'm not haha I think after everything I deserve a little treat! I can do this! I deserve this! Oh I feel sooooo guilty.... but oh they're soooooo pretty. I'll share pics once they arrive :)

Quick Update

Well, bad news is nursing school is taking over my life. Good news, I now have an excellent range of medical terms that will ensure I kick ass at Scrabble next time I play my sister.
Nothing much has changed within the past year.. I graduated with an associates in May, got a new job in June, and started back up with school working for my bachelors degree in nursing in August. At first it was so rough trying to find time for everything and work around my crazy schedule to try to keep everyone a priority and make them happy, but after about a few weeks of that I was starting to have breakdowns literally like every 4 days- nursing will do that to you regardless. To try to make it easier though, I just decided I need to be selfish and as much as I love my friends and family and would do anything for them, I need to focus on me right now. These next two years will honestly determine my life path- that's how critical it is. So I pretty much spend all my time now on dates with my school books (I keep this fact away from Boyfriend; don't want him to get jealous about how much time I spend with my hands all over them) and try to calm my twitchy eye haha.
Everything has pretty much been going really well for the past few months. After finally escaping the hell of retail for 3 years, I finally feel so much more like myself. I say that school is stupid all the time, but I"m smiling and my face is shining the whole time I say it. And for the first time in a long time, I can genuinely say that I love my job. It's all just like magic. This will sound so corny, but I can't help but feel so much more appreciative and humble and content after helping out my patients. Never will you be able to see it so clearly how fast something can go wrong, the tragedy of old age or bad luck, or the miracle that the body is and how beautiful of a machine it is that it gets us through every day. I can't put it into words, but that's why I do what I do.. I'm just drawn to its magic and hope and beauty and it's a terrifyingly wonderful thing. I feel so honored to be able to be a part of it.
